Éma Armanious

|
Egyptian-born Éma Armanious maintains a full-time
career as a Flute recitalist, chamber musician, private Flute Instructor,
and clinician in the Greater Houston area. She regularly performs with
a variety of classical chamber groups for ceremonies, receptions, business
engagements, and other occasions throughout Houston.
Ms. Armanious has taught flute in Houston for nineteen years. She directs
a large studio of private flute students and the Melody Makers Flute Choirs.
She has been on the faculty of "Floot Fire" for five years. She has taught
in the Alief, Houston, Spring Branch, and Cy-Fair Independent School Districts,
Suzuki Talent School, as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Houston,
and at Houston Baptist University Preparatory School of Music. Many of
her students achieve local recognition; and several have excelled at the
national level and have won auditions and competitions at major music
conservatories. Ms. Armanious holds a MM degree in Flute Performance from
the University of Houston and a BM degree in Flute Performance from Houston
Baptist University. She has also studied at Interlochen Arts Academy,
Aspen Music Festival, and the Tanglewood Institute.
Ms. Armanious is a recipient of the Presidential Scholar Teacher Recognition
Award June 2000 presented at the White House with the President attending
and speaking. This award is sponsored by the National Foundation for Advancement
in the Arts and is awarded to teachers for their students' outstanding
achievement and work. This award recognizes the teacher for "inspiring
young artists and having profound influence on their artistic development."
