Donald Buchanan

A versatile and talented member of the Wind Section of the Houston Sinfonietta, Donald arrived in Houston in 1985 from Brooklyn, New York.

He has studied saxophone with Larry Slezak, Fred Hargus, and Warren Sneed at Houston Community College. He studied clarinet with Smith Toulson at Yale University.

Besides his talents as a classical musician, Donald is a member of Third Coast Swing, a dance band that frequents the Pecos Grill in the Heights. He also plays with the John Paul Trio, regularly entertaining patrons at Masraff's on Post Oak Lane.
